Carpenters’ Capers 2006

The 2006 Carpenters' Capers dinner and fundraising evening was held on June 10. Among its highlights were Alyssa Waser's brilliant singing, the remarkable Wellington High School Jazz Band, and Dawn Tyndall back for a repeat performance as our witty and pocket-emptying auctioneer.

Brenda Wiebe, for whom we are building a home this summer on the Montague Road lot donated to Habitat by the City of Nanaimo, was there together with Todd Pugh, her brother-in-law. Todd will be in charge of the forming and framing for our Montague Build.

Also present were Leonard Krog, MLA (Nanaimo), Doug Routley, MLA (Cowichan-Ladysmith), Jamie Brennan, School District 68 Board Chair, and Nanaimo City Councillors Diane Brennan, Joy Cameron, and Merv Unger. The guests all greatly enjoyed themselves and they helped raise nearly $7,000 towards the cost of Brenda’s new home.

Our thanks to all the volunteers and SPONSORS who helped make Carpenters’ Capers ’06 such an enjoyable success.

The Organising Committee:

And of course, the Coast Bastion Inn’s Catering Staff for yet another wonderful dinner.
