Committees
Habitat for Humanity’s standard committees are the vehicles
used to coordinate, delegate and monitor the various activities
that make an affiliate viable and sustainable, and enable it
to build homes with partner families.
Build Committee
The Build Committee deals with all aspects of constructing
Habitat homes. This committee oversees house design, develops
construction
plans, and supervises home building.
Family Selection & Partnering Committee
The Family Selection & Partnering Committee determines
the criteria for the selection of Partner Families, advertises
for
applicants, conducts interviews and recommends Partner Families
to the Board of Directors. This Committee also works with individual
Partner Families to ensure that they understand the benefits
and responsibilities of being a Habitat Partner Family, and acts
as an advocate for the family in dealing with the Board and other
Committees.
PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE
The Public Relations Committee works to promote Habitat Mid-Vancouver Island Society’s
mission in the community.
VOLUNTEER COMMITTEE
The Volunteer Committee recruits, welcomes, organises, and
rewards volunteers who participate in Habitat builds, in
our Restore,
and on other Habitat Mid-Vancouver Island Society activities.
Site Selection and Land Acquisition Committee
The Site Selection and Land Acquisition Committee works with
local and national sources to ensure that Habitat for Humanity
has a bank of suitable land to complete their mission.
